Democrat for NY State Senate (District 34)
I’m running for New York State Senate in District 34, where I was born and raised. I'm running against Senator Jeff Klein, who leads the Independent Democratic Conference ("IDC"). The IDC is a group of 8 New York State Senators who are elected as Democrats, BUT who caucus with Republicans. Jeff Klein and the IDC do this in exchange for more money and more power. But, enough is enough.
Even if you don’t live in the district, this is a state race that impacts all New Yorkers.
I'm running because I believe that New York should be a leader in progressive governance, and because progress is being stopped by the IDC's fake Democrats at a time when state laws and policies have never been more important or more at risk.
As State Senator, my priorities will be expanding voting rights, promoting reproductive justice, and making sure that every person in the district has a good, well-paying job. I'll also fight for functioning transit, affordable housing, criminal justice reform, and protections against sexual abuse, sexual assault, and sexual harassment so that every human being has a safe working environment, regardless of what they do for a living.
