Statement from Alessandra Biaggi on Receiving the Endorsement of the Working Families Party

(New York) - Alessandra Biaggi, candidate for State Senate in 34th district, today issued the following statement announcing her endorsement by the Working Families Party, and calling for the voters of the Bronx and Westchester to put their energy towards ensuring they are represented by progressive leadership.

“I am honored to announce that today I am being endorsed by the Working Families Party.

The Working Families Party is a tireless advocate for the people of New York, fighting to make our state work better for everyone - not just the wealthy and the well-connected. Their support means so much to me and my team, and I look forward to a strong partnership throughout this campaign and during my service in the State Senate.

Running for office is never easy, especially when you are up against the machine. We began with no establishment support, we have no funds flowing from Albany, no favors to call in. There is just me and my team, packed around my dining room table, working day and night to show the voters of my district that we deserve a real Democrat who will represent the interests of working people.

Our support is growing stronger each week, because people can feel the difference between me and my opponent. He does not have a genuine connection to working families - his genuine connection is to GOP State Senate leadership and the Republican agenda.

I am proud to stand with the Working Families Party, and in receiving their endorsement, I am issuing a call to everyone who lives in the Bronx and Westchester.

This is your campaign. If you believe that New York should be a powerful leader in progressive governance, you belong with us. If you want to feel what it’s like to work with an insurgent campaign fueled by determination to turn New York blue, we want to hear from you. If you have time and energy to dedicate toward making sure that we elect a real Democrat this year, reach out to us.

Together, we will show that the working families of New York reject dishonest and self-serving politics, and that the time has come for true progressive leadership.”
