Biaggi State Senate Campaigns Receives Two Major Endorsements
Two major endorsements announced today mark a milestone in the New York State Senate campaign of Alessandra Biaggi.
- Biaggi is one of 17 candidates awarded by The Arena Summit.
- The activist group Up2Us pledged to support her race for the Democratic nomination in the 34th District.
The Arena Summit is a political action committee that supports first-time candidates, activists and civic leaders. Its endorsement will include financial backing for Biaggi’s campaign. The list of honorees nationwide includes endorsements in a gubernatorial contest and five U.S. congressional races.
Up2Us is a nationwide organization, formed to protect the rights and resources of all citizens. Through its Chappaqua chapter, Up2Us is pledging to support Biaggi’s campaign through fundraising and volunteerism.
“We are thrilled to endorse and support Alessandra Biaggi, a Democrat who will work as a true Democrat in Albany, which the 34th district deserves," said Up2Us board member Kristen Lore.
Biaggi has already been endorsed by the Working Families Party and more than five dozen other organizations. She is challenging state senator Jeff Klein in the Democratic primary on Thursday, Sept. 13. Klein is the leader of the Independent Democratic Conference, a group of eight state senators who were elected as Democrats but chose to caucus with the Republican conference in Albany.
